Two barangays in Quezon City have been placed under a stricter and higher level of quarantine termed as "extreme enhanced community quarantine."

As per Inquirer's report (authored by Mariejo Ramos), Mayor Joy Belmonte identified the two barangays as Kalusugan and Tandang Sora.

In this type of quarantine, hot zones were identified. These zones will be under strict surveillance and monitoring and that movement in and out of that zone will be restricted.

Households that would be tagged as a hot zone would receive food delivery from the government.

St. Luke's Medical Center is located in Barangay Kalusugan and where a number of the 29 confirmed cases are currently confined.

There are two more barangays that were supposed to be placed under extreme quarantine following the guidelines - Barangays Matandang Balara and Bagong Lipunan Crame.

CNN Philippines reported that as per the police, tighter security measures would be in place for these zones.

Aside from the hot zone, there would also be warm zones. This would refer to households that are within a 500-meter radius of the home of a confirmed COVID case.

As per Philstar, those in these zones would have to go through thermal scans when they either enter or leave the area. They can go in and out of their homes but they would have to pass checkpoints that the government would be setting up.

The coronavirus outbreak started out in Wuhan, Hubei Province of China. Scientists believed that the virus came from an animal at one of Wuhan's wet markets. At present, the Philippines is under a state of calamity while the entire Luzon is under an enhanced community quarantine.
